Chocolate Brown Fumed Oak

Textured and oiled HC7203

A beautiful, Chocolate brown fumed oak floor. Using high quality natural oak planks, it is fumed to give a warm chocolate brown colour. The fuming is done specially to give a more natural appearance. The process allows the wood to stay the same colour for the entire thickness, which prevents discolouring from scratches and wear, stopping the natural colour from showing with age. With aged and distressed planks becoming more and more popular, the techniques used to create the distressing have greatly improved. This Textured Fumed and Oiled Oak is from a high quality European manufacturer and makes use of traditional distressing techniques to give the effect of an older floor,  yet it is constructed using cutting edge engineered floor technology to ensure maximum stability.

Each plank has been fumed for colour and then treated with an oil finish. The fuming process involves the treatment of the wood with ammonia, this darkens the oak throughout the veneer as well as creating a great colour variation between the differing densities of wood in the boards. The colour variation present in these boards is huge, ranging from light to chocolate brown much like an American Black Walnut floor but made of a harder wood. The main attraction of these boards comes from the sublime undulating finish created by planing the length of the boards. The waved effect that this creates is perfect for the colouration and look of the boards and creates the impression of a traditional old floor.
